With an organic approach, this wine exudes intense aromas of red fruits, particularly cherries, complemented by delicately smoked meats. On the palate, it reveals a fresh and vibrant profile, with layers of blackberry, pepper, liquorice, and a distinctive tobacco-chocolate finish. The wine has been carefully matured in oak barrels, with a minimum of 14 months aging, using approximately 35% new barrels to ensure a harmonious integration of flavors. From the vineyard, the two family-owned parcels, one planted in 1947 and the other in 1976, contribute to the complexity of this wine, with a subsoil of brown silt atop fractured rock. This Volnay is a perfect match for roasted duck, grilled lamb chops, or a hearty mushroom risotto, and will continue to age with grace and assurance.
