Description

The 2011 Richebourg Grand Cru has fine transparency on the nose, more “stony” than fruit-driven, well-defined with scents of terracotta and wet clay emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle grip on the entry. The tannins are quite fine once again, nicely balanced with an unprepossessing finish that leaves a dash of white pepper in the mouth. Fine, but perhaps not a long-term Richebourg. Drink 2014-2020.

Tasting note

This 2019 Domaine Anne Gros Richebourg Grand Cru is a wine of extraordinary elegance and power. Its purple hue reflects the purity of Pinot Noir, and the aromas are incredibly complex, spanning a spectrum of floral, spicy, fruity, vegetal, and exotic notes. With age, it develops earthy and wild characteristics, adding to its complexity. The wine is traditionally vinified and aged in French oak barrels for approximately 16 months, contributing to its silky, velvety tannins and powerful depth. This Grand Cru is one of the most sensual and complex wines, often described as a peacock’s tail.
