In 1984, at the tender age of 20, Markus Molitor took over his father's winery with a clear aim: to produce Mosel Rieslings under the name "Molitor" in the tradition of eight generations.

Molitor has consistantly produced high-quality rieslings that made the region world-famous. Molitor's rieslings included some 100 years old vines, which are terroir-specific, unmistakable and extremely storable.

Molitor has gained the nickname "Herr 300 Points" (Mr. 300 Points) since Editor Stephan Reinhardt from Wine Advocate has given the estate 3 hundred points in 2013. Up til today, the estate has gained a total of 17 hundred points! 💯

The winery produces over 70 wines with only 3 varieties (Riesling, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc) from vineyards in 15 different sites. Renowned vineyards include
Brauneberger Klostergarten, Bernkasteler Doctor, Wehlener Sonnenuhr, Zeltinger Sonnenuhr and so on.

Molitor believes every vintage and vineyard should show its characteristics. His wines illustrate depth and structure with the typical uniqueness of the Mosel terroir.

The estate has a special capsule color coding for the wine's sweetness levels: White for dry, green for off dry and gold for sweet. Other than the color coding, they also have a unique rating system: from 1-3 stars, which 3 stars are the rarest with highest quality.
